Patriot Day
Today, September 11, 2018, marks seventeen years since the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93. As a nation we mourn the losses and we remember those left behind. We also seek to honor and thank our first responders who continue to make daily sacrifices to protect and help us.
We see our law enforcement, firefighters, EMT, and others in our communities risking their own safety to respond to our emergencies any time of the day or night. We see them taking our kids out for a donut or shopping at Christmas time. We see them in the streets collecting for charities to help others. We saw our police department offering movies and games in Washington Park on National Night Out.
Their families miss them at many holidays while they are on duty. Many are called out of their beds in the middle of the night. They face unbelievable stress and real danger at work. They deserve our thanks, our gratitude and support.
First Baptist Church – Dunkirk invites you and your family to a special Back to Church & Patriot Day Sunday service on September 16th, where we want to honor and thank our local heroes for their sacrificial service to our community.
Our community heroes will be recognized for their contributions during the church service and then afterwards we will enjoy a time of food and fun outdoors including games, and prizes. Join us at 10 am for the worship service followed by the lunch and fun at 11:30 am.
