Welcome to First Baptist Church. Please join us as we worship God together or come just to learn more about the Christian faith. No matter who you are or where you are on your spiritual journey, you are welcome here!
Our mission is to help people worship God, grow spiritually, and share the Gospel.
Let us know when you are planning to visit us and we will be waiting for you!
The mask mandate has been lifted for all indoor gatherings in the state of New York. You are still welcome to wear a mask or social distance but it is no longer required. The Fellowship Hall on the lower level has a live screen of the main service. There may be more room if you want to further distance from others.
If this is your first time here you may want to check out the info below:
- Parking – You will find visitor parking spaces close to the building and handicap spaces closest to the double side doors. There is a ramp inside those doors for access to the auditorium (upper level) and our Fellowship Hall (lower level). FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What will the experience be like?
The worship service at First Baptist typically includes worship in music, prayer, Scripture reading and a message from God’s Word. The music is led by our worship leader, utilizing different combinations of instruments and vocals, is blended and includes classic hymns of the faith as well as the best of contemporary worship music.
The message is always centered on God’s Word. You can expect to leave challenged and encouraged! The service lasts approximately 60-90 minutes and is followed by a time of fellowship with some snacks and, of course, coffee! Please join us in the cafeteria on the lower level for coffee after the service. Follow the signs or ask someone.
At 11:00 we gather for Sunday School. Growing deeper in our faith and deeper in our knowledge and understanding of God through His Word is one of our key purposes. We have different class offerings for adults and classes for all ages of children and teenagers. A nursery is available for both the Worship Service time and Sunday School.
Stop by our Welcome Center to learn more about the church and its ministries. This is also the place to sign up for Growth Groups or special events. You will also find a rack with booklets covering a wide variety of life’s topics and challenges. Please take one or more for yourself or a friend. You can learn more about our biblical counseling ministry HERE.
Worship is an interactive, participatory experience. We invite you to join us as we praise God in singing by following the lyrics on the screens or using the hymnals in the pew rack in front of you. Please feel free to sit down during singing if you are not feeling well or simply need to rest.
The teaching time seeks to communicate God’s Truth in compelling and relevant ways. Feel free to follow the outline, take notes on the sheet provided in the bulletin or follow along in the FaithLife app. This includes announcements, Scripture passages, and the sermon notes.
Our pastor, deacons and others are available to pray with you today. Feel free to seek one of them out after the service. We also gather together to pray 15 minutes before the service begins and would love to pray with you after the service ends.
We take time monthly to celebrate Communion. We welcome you, if you are a believer, to participate in this act of worship and remembrance of Jesus Christ’s loving sacrifice for us. This is typically the first Sunday of the month.
If you are a guest, you are not expected or obligated to give anything. Our members and regular attendees give tithes and offerings as an act of worship, obedience, celebration, and thanksgiving to the Lord. You can give before, during or after the service as you feel led. You can also give online through PayPal. There is more information HERE. If you want your own giving envelopes to keep track of annual gifts for tax purposes stop by the Welcome Center for information.
Our services are video recorded and live streamed every week thanks to our dedicated Tech Team. If you are in the auditorium you might appear on-line. If you want to avoid this, you can sit in our Fellowship Hall (lower level) and watch the worship service on a large screen with others. You can also watch on-line every week on the First Baptist Church Facebook Page, the First Baptist Church YouTube channel, or watch later on the First Baptist Church website. Click on any of these links to go directly to those pages.
What should I wear?
We don’t focus on how you look. Wear clothes that you feel comfortable wearing. People dress in a wide variety of ways. Some may be in a suit and tie or a dress while others will be in jeans and a t-shirt. That is not important. We just want you here with us!
What about my kids?
Children are welcome in all of our services! We have a nursery available for the littlest ones through preschool age and we offer Kid’s Church during the Worship Service time for Kindergarten up through fourth grade. There are age-appropriate Sunday School classes available for Elementary, Middle, and High School. The nursery is available during the Sunday School time as well. Our nursery has changing tables and a private room for nursing moms. You are free to use this any time.
Please contact the church office at 716-366-6634 or contact Pastor Mark if you have any other questions regarding First Baptist Church or planning your first visit. You can also use the “Contact Us” form on this page.
