FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What will the experience be like?
The worship service at First Baptist begins at 9:30 am and includes music, reading God’s Word and a message. The music is led by our worship leader, utilizing different combinations of instruments and vocalists, is blended and includes hymns of the faith as well as today’s worship music.
The message is always centered on God’s Word. You can expect to leave challenged and encouraged! The service lasts approximately 60-75 minutes and is followed by a time of fellowship with some snacks and, of course, coffee!
At 11:00 we gather for Sunday School. We have different class offerings for adults and classes for all ages of children and teenagers. A nursery is available for both the Worship Service time and Sunday School.
Stop by our Welcome Center to learn more about the church and its ministries. This is also the place to sign up for Growth Groups or special events. You will also find a rack with booklets covering a wide variety of life’s topics and challenges. Please take one or more for yourself or a friend. You can learn more about our biblical counseling ministry HERE.
Worship is an interactive, participatory experience. We invite you to join us as we praise God in singing by following the lyrics on the screens or using the hymnals in the pew rack in front of you. Please feel free to sit down during singing if you are not feeling well or simply need to rest.
Our members and regular attendees give tithes and offerings as an act of worship, obedience, celebration, and thanksgiving to the Lord. You can give before, during or after the service as you feel led. If you are a guest, you are not expected or obligated to give. You can also give online through PayPal. There is more information HERE.
The teaching time seeks to communicate God’s Truth in compelling and relevant ways. Feel free to follow the outline, take notes on the sheet provided in the bulletin or follow along in the FaithLife app. This includes announcements, Scripture passages, and the sermon notes.
Our pastor and members of our Deacon Board and others are available to pray with you today. Feel free to seek one of them out after the service. We also gather together to pray 15 minutes before the service begins and would love to pray with you after the service ends.
We take time monthly to celebrate Communion. We welcome you, if you are a believer, to participate in this act of worship and remembrance of Jesus Christ’s loving sacrifice for us. This is typically the first Sunday of the month.
What should I wear?
Clothes that you feel comfortable wearing. People dress in a wide variety of ways. Some may be in a suit and tie or a dress while others will be in jeans and a t-shirt. That is not important. We just want you here!
What about my kids?
Children are welcome in all of our services! We have a nursery available for the tiny ones through preschool age and we offer Kid’s Church during the Worship Service time for Kindergarten up through fourth grade. There are age-appropriate Sunday School classes available for Elementary, Middle, and High School. The nursery is available during the Sunday School time, also.
