Intro
We are in a new sermon series called Rediscover Church – why the body of Christ is essential. We are asking nine key questions about church. And as we consider the answers I hope we all take the next step in deepening our relationship with Christ and our local church. GOSPEL
The Gospel, the Good News, is about not being alone anymore. Our sins separate us from God and they cause conflict with other people too. God send His Son Jesus to be the Savior of the world – to die in our place, paying for our sins, and then rise from the dead to show His power of death and the grave. The first step of is to recognize, admit your own sin, confess that to God and accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross as the only way to be forgiven. This restores your relationship with God and brings peace through Jesus. You will never be alone again. Jesus promised his disciples that we would never leave them or abandon them. And Jesus gave us the church so we could gather and belong to a family who are here for our mutual benefit.
