Reopening Plan Update: June 3, 2020
UPDATE JUNE 3, 2020:
New York’s Western Region has just entered Phase 2 of the Reopening plan and churches are able to hold services with up to ten people.
First Baptist Church restarted our Men’s Bible studies on Monday evenings and Wednesday mornings with George Pilgrim leading. Our prayer meeting can have up to ten people here at church, while the rest join via Zoom. We are also able to hold our monthly meeting with various committees here at the church. All of these meeting still require social distancing and the use of face masks when less than six feet from another person.
Developing a plan for reopening
Pastor Mark and the Deacons have been gathering information for the Sunday when we can hold our regular worship service at church. We have been successfully worshiping together online via Facebook and YouTube since March 22. Things will be different when we return and we really don’t know for how long; so we are trying to take our state guidelines and requirements into account. We are developing a reopening plan that includes safety measures like social distancing, use of face masks, hand sanitizer, limiting parts of the building, safe food preparation and serving, and proper cleaning between services.
Church services not allowed yet
Church services and schools are currently included in Phase 4. We do not know when Phase 4 will be reached for our region, but we are working diligently to be ready to reopen our doors at soon as we can. Our church/school and financial offices are open again. Please wear a face mask when entering the building.
If you have any questions or considerations please feel free to call the church office, contact your deacon or Pastor Mark.
God bless you and keep you.
– Pastor Mark Massaro & FBC Deacons
