Please Pray for Unity in our Nation
“But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.” 1 John 2:11 ESV
Please Pray for Unity
Our nation is fighting over serious racial issues and abuse of power and needs unity. The verse above is talking specifically about unity among brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ; but God’s Word is clear in it’s commands to love others, to seek justice, to not discriminate or show partiality and to share the Gospel with every nation, tribe and language. Our people, businesses, schools and churches are still suffering from the impact of the corona virus and the shut-down and quarantine. These are not surprises to you and they are not surprises to our great God. He is sovereign and in ultimate control. The issues of prejudice and hate are sin issues within the heart of an individual person. The only answer to being free from sin is the cross of Jesus Christ. We also know that our God is pure and holy. He calls His people to learn to do good, seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause (Isaiah 1:17).
Pray for our Government Leaders
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 ESV
Please be in fervent prayer for unity in our nation, for wisdom and discernment for our local, state, national and world leaders. Please pray for our police officers and other law enforcement officials who are under attack. God calls us to submit to those in authority over us as we submit to His supreme authority in our lives.
