Hope came down
Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6 ESV
With the advent of the Messiah, hope came into the world. Hope for reconciliation or peace with a holy, perfect God was born in a stable. Jesus, the Son of God, provided peace with God through His sacrificial death on the cross. He is the only way to a right relationship with God.
Jesus is the Word of God communicating truth about God, His character and His love for sinful, broken people. He spoke only truth and told people the way to know God is to believe in Him. In Jesus, life is found and the life was the light for men. The Light shines in this dark world showing people where to find life – where to find God. (see John 1)
Jesus’ message was singular and exclusive: no one can come to God, the Father, except through the Son.
Have you found this Hope? Have you found Light in this world? Have you found the Truth? His name is Jesus and we celebrate His advent or coming at Christmas.
