First Baptist Church – Dunkirk Joins Thousands of Churches to Participate in National Back to Church Sunday on September 8

“Back to Church Sunday,” part of a national movement of churches across America, will be held at First Baptist Church in Dunkirk at 10 am September 8. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Since it started as a call to action and invitation for the church in 2009, the National Back to Church Sunday movement marks its tenth year and continues gain momentum. More than 5 million Christ followers have participated through 30,000 churches! It is a day focused on uniting the church to equip and empower members to be inviters. Eight out of ten people say they are open to visiting church if invited—they are just waiting for an invitation.

Patriot Sunday

For Back to Church Sunday, First Baptist Church will have a special Patriot Sunday service that honors our first responders – our community heroes! After the service, there will be a FREE cookout to thank our local heroes and help visitors and our members get to know each other. It will be a community celebration! There’s something for everyone: games, a raffle for great prizes, and fun for the kids and families. “We know our EMTs, firefighters, and police officers make huge sacrifices every day for the people of our community. Today, we want to say thank you and honor their service,” said Pastor Mark Massaro.

Together

Our theme “Together,” addresses a felt need in today’s culture. At some point, we are all searching for connectedness. Looking for a way to be part of something bigger than us. This is a time for everyone to experience the church as a place of belonging—rooted in restoration and unity brought by Jesus Christ. First Baptist Church believes that there has never been a better time than now for people to come back and get plugged in to a church that offers friendships, opportunities to serve the community, and the place to grow spiritually through a journey of personal faith.

First Baptist Church is a welcoming local congregation located at 876 Central Ave in Dunkirk. For more information go to www.DunkirkBaptist.org/Together or call 716-366-6634.
