Scripture: Revelation 1:9

Bonds are often formed by having something in common:   a cherished belief, a shared experience, a common favorite.

Christians share a ______________ described well in Revelation 1:9

Factor: TRIBULATION KINGDOM ENDURANCE
Meaning: Pain/Pressure Pleasure Perseverance
References: 1:9, 2:9, 2:10, 2:22, 7:14 1:9, 11:15, 12:10, 16:10, 17:12, 17, 18 1:9, 2:2, 2:3, 2:19, 3:10. 13:10, 14:12

1. PAIN

We suffer together for our cause.  (II Timothy 3:12, Philippians 3:10)

We face specific Christian pressures:  The Lord tests us, to positively prove us.  (I Corinthians 10:13)

The world tests us, with injustice.  (Psalm 37 & 73)

The devil tests us, with persecution.  (I Peter 2:21-23)

The author of this is imprisoned as he writes it!

2. PLEASURE

We focus on the kingdom to come.   (John 18:36)

We’re not about the present, the visible, the material.

We instead focus on the future, the invisible, the spiritual. (Matt. 6:33)

The author of this is given visions of it as he writes it!

This is all very motivating!  (Hebrews 12:28, I Thessalonians 2:12)

This is all very ________________!  (Romans 8:18, II Timothy 4:18)

3. PERSEVERANCE

We remain under the pressure, abiding in Christ.

He prescribes and commends this.  (2:2, 2:3, 2:19, 3:10, 13:10, 14:12).

The author of this was released from this island prison after this!

We share a bond . . for the word of ______________  & the testimony of ______________ Christ.
