Biblical love is a choice. It’s action over emotion.
Naomi chose to bring Orpah & Ruth.
Ruth chose to love her mother-in-law, her people, and her God.
Resolve
Naomi moved back to Bethlehem.
Ruth chose to work & provide.
Boaz favored Ruth, a foreigner, a widow.
Ruth followed Jewish customs and God’s Law.
Redemption
Ruth sought redemption from Boaz.
Boaz protected Ruth & her reputation.
Boaz redeemed Ruth and Naomi both.
Jesus, our Redeemer & Messiah came through Ruth & Boaz’s family (David)
Take Aways
- Ruth loved her family.
- She kept her word.
- She delighted & was diligent in her work.
- She trusted God in hard times.
- She sought help (redemption).
