A Ruler from Bethlehem

  • Muster = gather your army, prepare for war
  • “But you”
  • Bethlehem = house of bread
  • Ephrathah = from Ephraim
  • God uses the small and insignificant
  • From of old, from ancient days “I am”
  • He will stand firm
  • He will shepherd his people
  • His strength and majesty are from God
  • Jesus is the Shepherd King who lays down his life for the sheep

A Remnant Gathered

  • Remnant = small amount left over
  • Jewish people today are scattered throughout the world
  • God will avenge His people
    • Battle of Armageddon
    • Final Battle
  • Book of Life = chosen and saved by Jesus’ righteousness
  • Is your name in the Book of Life?

Summary

  • True Christians will become a smaller and smaller remnant
  • God uses the small and insignificant to do big things
