In God We Trust

Scripture: Genesis 43

Genesis 43:1-14

• Jacob trusted God
  El Shaddai = God Almighty
• Jacob believed in God’s sovereign control

Genesis 43:15-34

• Steward reassured the brothers that God (Elohiym) gave them their treasurers.
• Brothers did not argue Benjamin’s special treatment.

Two Key Questions:

1. Is God trustworthy?

• God is completely Sovereign
  • Psalm 135:5-6
• God is infinite in Wisdom
  • Proverbs 3:19
• God is perfect in Love
  • 1 John 4:10

2. Do you know and trust God?

• Choosing to trust God is a matter of faith.
• Believing (trusting) in Jesus Christ alone for salvation is the first step.
• God promises to never leave you.
• When we know God we can come to Him for help.
• When we know His Word we will think/act on truth not feelings.
• All things work together for good. Romans 8:28-30
  • Good is becoming more like Jesus Christ.
