Genesis – Origins

The Beginning is our origin point, but not God’s. He existed before the universe, before we had the measurement of time, before anything.
God as all-powerful creator, who was and is and is to come, is our ultimate authority. He is the one we answer to. His Word, the Bible, is His story including how we can know Him and have a relationship with Him.

Scripture: Genesis 1:1

God’s Story

The Bible is God’s story from beginning to end. It’s the greatest book ever written. And unlike comic books or fantasy it is an authentic account of the one true God, a history and the future of our universe and the people who live in it. Genesis was written as an origins episode to explain the backstory of the nation of Israel as well as the creation of the universe and the rest of mankind. It was specifically written for the Jewish nation by one of their key leaders and prophets, Moses.

The Bible

The Bible is unlike any other religious book. Despite forty authors writing from three continents over nearly two thousand years, it maintains a perfect consistency of message. These facts alone make the Bible one of a kind, but there are many more amazing details that defy natural explanation.

You’ve patiently waited for Genesis. In Genesis 1:1 we find the greatest and most famous book introduction of all time.

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and earth.”  Genesis 1:1 (ESV)

This is not a myth or fable. It is not an allegory representing something else. It is a beautifully written description of God’s creative work.

The Beginning is our origin point, but not God’s. He existed before the universe, before we had the measurement of time, before anything.
