Community – Let it Change You

Scripture: Genesis 2:18; John 17:20-21; Galatians 6:1-5

Created for Community

God created us for fellowship and community with others. We are not meant to live cut off from others or from God.

Carry Others’ Burdens

As we love others the way God loves us, we will lighten the load when others are struggling.

Here are two simple ways we can do this.

1 Thessalonians 4:18 says comfort or encourage one another with the good news that Jesus is returning.

Galatians 6:2 says carry each others burdens.

First, we encourage one another going forward.

Second, we are there to carry burdens for one another no matter what.

Community should be Intentional

The early church recognized that they needed each other. They ate together, read Scripture together, prayed together and intentionally built community in the church.

Take Aways

  • First of all, have you stayed for Coffee & Refreshments and met a few people?
  • The next step is staying for a Sunday School class after the service. You’re already here so give it a try!
  • Have you tried a Growth Group? We meet at someone’s home for food, fellowship, faith discussions, and prayer. There is no pressure to talk or say anything. You can just come listen. There are four different groups meeting in different locations on different nights of the week. And we hope to have a fifth group starting up next month.
  • If want to grow even deeper, you may be looking for a smaller less formal setting. Who are one, two, or three people you could invest in for a more intentional community? Maybe church and the Bible are newer to you and you want help growing. Stop by the Welcome Center and we help you find someone to have a Bible study with you.
  • Sign up for the next Intro Class. See Upcoming Events.

The GOSPEL

If all of this sounds to good to be true, maybe you haven’t met Jesus personally and enjoyed fellowship with Him. The Bible says believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. Here is what that means. You believe the Bible’s description of you as a sinner who needs to be forgiven by God. You believe that Jesus, the Son of God, died on the cross for your sins and can forgive you. You believe that God raised Him from the dead and offers you eternal life. You ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. If you are ready to take this step in your life, come talk to me after the Service.
