In honor of Father’s Day this morning, I will be speaking about being a Man of Integrity. Today let’s honor fathers for all that they do well and for trying, and let’s show grace and forgiveness for the times they failed.

Genesis: Creation Part I

Ex nihilo is Latin for “from nothing.” The term creatio ex nihilo refers to God creating everything from nothing. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). Prior to that moment, there was nothing. God didn’t make the universe from preexisting building blocks. He started from scratch.
These first two verses are an introduction to the story of creation. Who is God? He is Elohim, the Creator. There is an understood connection to the God, the nation of Israel already knew as their Redeemer and Protector.

After Paul asked the Colossians to pray for him to have opportunities to share the Gospel, he gave clear instructions to the believers on how they should act and speak with unbelievers. These principles are for us today as well. Believers lives should be attractive in action and in our speech to draw people to desire a relationship with God.
