He shall be their peace

And He shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they shall dwell secure for now He shall be great to the ends of the earth. And He shall be their peace.

Micah 5:4-5

Earlier in this chapter, the prophet Micah declared that the One from of Old – from ancient days would be born in Bethlehem. This could be no one other than the Messiah, the Son of God who was in the beginning with God.

Jesus Christ, the Messiah, was born in Bethlehem, fulfilling this ancient prophecy from 500 years earlier. He Came to be the Good Shepherd – to care for His people in the strength and majesty of God. No human king or ruler could claim that distinction.

Jesus, the Messiah, will also bring security in his earthly millennial kingdom to the very ends of the earth. And He is our peace – here on earth but more importantly He is our peace with God. We will find true peace no where else.

God bless you and your family this Christmas season.
