The Gospel

Paul began this chapter with the encouragement, Therefore my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved. This letter was written to brothers and sisters in the Lord. Fellow believers who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. We are unable to come to God any other way. Our own good deeds or attempts at removing our sin are pointless. We need to confess our sins to God and trust in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus to be saved.

Have you personally trusted in Jesus Christ as your Savior? I encourage you to do that today. Come talk to me after the service or if you are watching online – contact me through the church.

Take Aways

How are you doing with worry and anxiety these days?

Are you remembering God’s faithfulness and blessings?

Do you give God the praise and glory for answered prayer?

Is it easy to come up with a list of things you are thankful for?

What’s your prayer life like?

Are you prayers more about thanking God and glorifying Jesus or are they about the things you want?

Have you experienced God’s peace?

The more your life is characterized by prayer, thanking God and recognizing His presence and faithfulness the more you will find peace.

Be sure to show and tell your family, friends and God how thankful you are this week.
